I serve in the United States Navy as a public affairs officer, which I've been doing for nine years. I've learned how to communicate effectively through this role with a wide audience. As a teacher, there are similar responsibilities. Students must understand the message I am providing, or they will not learn effectively. I went to Temple University to earn my bachelor's degree in psychology. I also have a masters degree from Kent State University in communication and public relations. I have taught everyone from small children to senior citizens in the United States and Japan a wide variety of subjects. I'm comfortable tutoring ESL, English, writing, essays, psychology, public speaking, social sciences, social studies, study skills and organization, writing, history, government and politics, and others. I love the moment when a student lights up because they understand something, and this inspires my teaching. When I have spare time, I enjoy scuba diving, practicing martial arts, practicing photography, going on hikes, and studying history.
