EducationStanford University - BS, Mathematics and Computational Science
ExperienceI began tutoring students at an early age. In high school I worked with elementary, middle school, and other high school students on math and English at a nearby library. As a student at Stanford University I became the lead math tutor at their learning center where I worked intensively with students in a variety of math subjects. I still adore helping students master their math curriculum.
I currently tutor in a wide variety of subjects, including algebra 1 & 2, calculus 1-3, chemistry, English, differential equations, geometry, middle school math, pre-calculus, statistics, trigonometry, chemistry, writing, multivariable calculus, arithmetic, pre-algebra, and various other math and science related courses. Additionally, I help students prepare for standardized exams such as the SAT.
For far too many students, math has been reduced to rote memorization and a confusing jumble of numbers. I prefer to have them think of math as a puzzle. As with any puzzle, there are logical steps involved in finding the conclusion. Utilizing these sequential steps and logical deduction I am able to provide my students with solid examples that facilitate the development of their mathematical skills. With all of my students, my primary goal is to create a lifelong love of problem solving and a true appreciation for the subject matter.
